Talking about the basic performance of autoclaved fly ash brick

Dec 07, 2021

Nowadays, autoclaved fly ash bricks should be widely used in industrial and civil buildings. This is mainly because of its unique performance. The following is a brief introduction by the master of the autoclaved fly ash converter!

       1. Strength. The compressive strength of autoclaved fly ash bricks is relatively high, generally up to 20Mpa or 15Mpa, at least 10Mpa; when the heating temperature is not higher than 400℃, the strength of autoclaved fly ash bricks increases as the temperature rises. When the temperature reaches 400°C or higher, the strength decreases.

       2. Shrinkage performance. The shrinkage and expansion coefficient of autoclaved fly ash brick masonry are greater than that of sintered ordinary brick masonry. When used in different regions, the shrinkage value of the same autoclaved fly ash brick is different due to the difference in temperature and humidity. At the same time, the volume will change when the temperature and humidity change. Therefore, as compared with sintered ordinary brick masonry, the shrinkage value of autoclaved fly ash brick masonry is much larger, and the influencing factors and changing laws are different, so special attention should be paid in application.

       3. Durability. Autoclaved fly ash bricks can withstand the frost resistance test. The frost resistance of autoclaved fly ash bricks is related to its own strength, and the frost resistance of high strength is also good. Therefore, it is stipulated in the product standard that only first-class bricks can be used for building parts with frost resistance requirements to ensure the durability of the building. For example, the autoclaved fly ash bricks of Beijing Modern Building Materials Co. still have good performance after 25 freeze-thaw cycles, and the carbonization coefficient of the bricks is greater than 0.8.

       4. Water resistance. Autoclaved fly ash brick is a potentially active hydraulic material. It can continue to produce hydration reaction in a humid environment to make the internal structure of the brick more compact, the compressive strength is improved, and the flexural strength is slightly reduced. According to experiments and surveys of many actual projects, the carbonization sampling used for the foot, foundation, drainage ditch, etc. was tested. After one or two decades of freezing and thawing and drying and wetness, some bricks have been completely carbonized. However, the strength has not been reduced and still maintains a high strength. This is also an advantage of autoclaved fly ash bricks.
